I've been thinking about doing the full manual steering rack conversion on my FD for the past few days. Taking off the belt would be a waste of time as it's not even close to the full conversion, so the only way I'd be able to really feel it on my car is to do it.

If anyone in socal with a full manual steering rack is willing to let me test drive their car, I'd be more than happy to buy them lunch.
