i want to trade my fc for an fd

How likely do you guys think this will happen?

I'm down with a good condition roller or paying a little cash + my car for a decent runner.

Thoughts?

I don't know man your Fc is pretty dope but after sevenstock I seen the fds selling prices go up a bit. You still can find rollers and beat on fds for cheap but not a solid trade I bet you will en up losing

Fack. I was starting to write up a FS/FT thread. Not sure where I'd post it though.

Thanks for the comments...and if you know anybody interested, let me know

craigslist.. sometimes cheapo FDs pop up because of bad motor and you just have to come off as trading a good working RX7 for a non-working RX7 lol

I almost traded my FC for a FD last year, but not having a job this would have been a difficult move. Then i think someone on here ended up with the car and saying how much a POS it was.

haha. I'm ready to take on another project, but not a POS.

If this falls through...perhaps i will look into upgrading/changing the other car.

just sell your car and buy a roller, you can find a decent roller in the $3.5-5k range which is easily what you should get for your car.

problem with trading is the FD guys and their superiority complexes will **** all over your threads until you want to pull it down. a rolling chassis FD isn't a goldmine, it's a rolling shell that requires an engine, time and money.

keep me in mind if you do go through with it and need a motor done.

Regardless, if you have an FD, it's because you like the way it looks, if you have a FC and it's in good condition you probably fall into the same category, the only reason to go to an OLDER car, with older looks would be because your newer vehicle doesn't work, and you need transportation or I've seen them sold due to the fact that some people don't want to ruin a FD chassis by putting everything needed for racing in them. So people get something that's cheaper and more common, (FC) and race prep that, barring those two circumstances, there'd be no way I'd trade you fair and square FD for FC.

So that's the problem you're going to run into in trading, I agree, sell your and buy someone else's, trading always leave someone the looser, with cash you can at least slide the scale in your favor, with hard exchanges that's much more difficult.

lol wacky

I was more thinking to myself about the older car point that DCrosby was making but I am not sure what it was. I have my 7 because I truly like it and frankly wouldn't trade it for a FD. But I may add an FD to the stable down the road lol

Then it's a good thing my car isn't a pos.

Thanks for the input guys, negative or not. We'll see what happens. Most likely, I will sell my car and buy a turbo kit for the M...I mean get an fd. Yeah, that.

I personally don't get the piston into a rotary car but I know there are those that don't agreee. I'd rather put a stoker chevy v8 in a chevy II aka a box nova and call that a day

gl optaining your goal joecrappa best I can figure your a wrenching guy that prefers to have projects to work on

Yeah i know, people who have LS engines laying around, id grab a late 60s camaro or other good chevy to retro it in. Hell i like C4 vettes Id do one of those up.

im sure some people here scene or know the one i almost traded for, it was a black fd with advans.. he wanted like 7 or 8 or something and was interested in straight trade *this was before I painted my car*. Than i remember a few months later someone popped up with that car on this forum. Probably wasn't too bad. I almost traded my car for a IS300 last year too . I only get those feelings/doubts when times are low.

It was a financial decision, I couldn't keep the rotary on the road for less than $4-6k every 18 mo. and I didn't want to part with the frame, because that's what I fell in love with initially anyhow... so I put a V8 in and now I'm a home owner, while before I always had to dig into the saving sfor the home to keep her running... Priorities...

Doesn't mean I hate rotaries, or don't want to be part of that scene, it just was the best financial decision, the alternative was to sell the roller, for $4-6K and bail on the RX-7 scene altogether, and trade the car for the house, which many here have done, and I wanted to avoid.
