I need help from someone in the Bay Area who has a passable cat for smog

Im in Berkeley and my FC RX isnt passing smog. My mechanic suspects its that my cat is worn out, but I dont want to buy a new one. I dont have the skills to do the alchohol trick in the tank, so thats outta the question.

Anyone have a spare cat they can loan/rent/cheaply sell to me to bolt on, pass, then give back or whatever? Anyone know someone I can just pay off to pass even??

Thanks

Not sure about FC main catalytic converters, but the FD ones run about $50 which is very cheap. It's a lot less work to buy a low mileage cat now and not have to worry about it again in 2 years. Do it right, do it once.
