How do you deal with this damn heat?
110 on my porch until 7:00 last night, when I walk outside I feel like one of those greasy hotdogs under the heatlamp at 7-11.
Fortunately I have an 8 person hot tub that is sunk into the ground that I run my 55 degree irrigation water into: spent 2hrs. in the thing yesterday. Sooo hot out that the dog is starting to get in it with me.
Went golfing in Chico at Butte Creek Friday afternoon @ 5:00: two people on the whole course. We walked. They felt soo sorry for us, I didn't get charged green fees. Too hot for the old folks to even venture out. No one at the bar in the clubhouse at 7:00p.m., bartender was happy to see anybody, gave us doubles at half price.
Everyone at work is crabby, the girls in the office are bitchy.
How the hell do people in Phonix or LasVegas put up with this **** all summer?

I just think I'm back in Kona, 90 with a slight breeze and water everywhere to go swimmin'. But I stuck here with no AC. go outside to work on the 7 for a alittle bit, walk back in the house looking like I just stepped out of the shower.

^^ I've heard that if you put ice in the bottom of the cooler it helps. We had one of those when we first moved up here in 1990. In July of that year it was well over 100 and humid, damn thing didn't do anything. We were sitting inside and watching a John Wayne movie - The Chism Trail, I think. Whenever it gets humid, we call it Chism Hot.
Stick your head out of your car going down the road, feels like a convection oven. I think I'm going to stick one of those frozen burritos in my dash and see how long it takes to cook....

well swamp coolers are usually the **** when you live in the desert...it's a dry heat and they work exceptionally well. that, and they cost almost nothing to run. but the more humidity in the air, the less effective they are.

It hit 116 in Riverside at the Vet's office. I just installed auto start on the truck (precool before you get in) ...priceless. I think it was like 106 here in OC and now it feels like Florida (sauna) cause it rained yesterday.

My swamp cooler has been working great all summer despite the sudden rise in humidity. I have one of the smaller ones that you get a home depot...Not those enormous ones that cool an entire house down....keep it on 60 all day long plus the AC in the house and that does it man....
Yeah the weather lately has been all fucked up. It starts raining and gets all humid afterwards for the next few days....feels like fucken tornado weather....pretty soon were going to be on tornado watch....

heh, my shop is hotter than it is in the sun, it must get to about 120F in there in the late afternoon when the sun starts beating down inside the bay door.
try dealing with that for over a week and customers screaming to have their engines/cars done. *sigh*, yes... and it doesn't look to clear up for close to another week.
the hot tub idea sounds like a good idea. i'm going to finally prep it and pump some cold water into it now so it will be ready by the time i get back home.

How do I deal? I sweat and burn. I have a black TII, one window doesn't work (driver side), no a/c, harness and black rollcage. To get out I have to grab the bar to swing myself out. I currently have no fingerprints on my left hand.

at least the new SE has A/C, the TII was becoming miserable to drive, i could even feel the heat blowing around from under the car out of the engine bay and into the driver's window... it was sucking pretty hardcore.

I sell cars for a living 12 hours a day. I try NOT to leave the dealership... Avoid the blacktop as much as possible, you wanna buy a car... come inside, we have A/C we'll work from there...
