Hiring?
#28
I feel you. I just hate feeling locked into such a boring and frustrating job. It's painful to bear lol.
People are telling me to hang in there, but somedays I just cant take it and feel like walking out. I'll stop my rant now and stay optimistic...there has to be something out there for me.

Some companies are hiring, it depends how much education and skills you have. The more skills, experience you have, the more you will be in demand. Kinda why i am going to kick my *** this year and go back to school (it's just so tough when you have not been in tough for 5 years), and then try to get more education. I used to think 2000-3000 a month was enough for me. That changed really fast.
I am already sick of a 5 figure annual salary. I want to make 6 figures so i can invest, save and retire young and just work part time for ***** n giggles in the automotive field doing what i like. Life is as much fun as you can AFFORD to have.
Best thing is to suck it up, i kinda regret leaving Takagi because i was stuck for 6 months without work, and i made more over there than i do at SSR (30,000 a year vs 1XXX a month before taxes (but i am under 10-99 so i writeoff most of them).

Life has thrown a lot of curve ***** at me, and some i have been able to tackle, and some i have not. It has somewhat exposed weaknesses in myself.
To really be independent, and live on your own in southern california takes a lot of financial clout.
A job can definitely be fun, but if it does not pay the bills, then it's a completely different story. Many people who know me, know that i love and enjoy cars more than almost anything. The one thing that bugs me, and constantly worries me are life's worst case scenarios, and i know i don't have what it takes to live on my own, comfortably, if disaster hits. That fear, is what made me realize, i need to make a lot more to support myself. My job, and income needs to provide for me.
Hypothetically speaking: I live with my parents (my dad) right now. If something happens to my dad, what happens to me? my mom? my GT-R? my life? 1XXX a month is not even going to chip the top of the iceberg, and working entry level or sales positions at such companies does not provide much more than that.
If you are working R&D, Engineering, or sales manager, etc, then yeah. But that takes a lot of education and experience, which i don't have. Which is why i want to GET there.
I have been kicked out of my house many times before, and lived scrounging around, sleeping in cars, wrenching at friends' shops to sleep there, been there done that. I hated it, to be honest. I want to LOVE cars, not hate them because i see them everyday. I see them as children, you want nothing but the best for them. I would hate myself if i could not provide that (and not always have i been able to, biggest case was my old rx7).

adults realize this and even if they dont care for their job they keep going in every day. take advantage of your employer all you can. if they offer to pay for you to go to school take the money. if they offer to train you take it. you should look at your job as a way to improve yourself and your resume.
i suggest staying where you are even if you dont like it. if you were to switch jobs right now what to say the company you go to wont lay off in a month....and dont tell me companies dont do that......guess what. you were the last hired. thats means you are also the first fired.
you have a steady pay check.....just deal

Not looking for a handout, although that would be nice. Everyone deserves a hand out sometimes.
Lazy? Only when Im bored.
I dont just deal, which is why I posted this thread. Taking advantage of company benefits is also an option. Paying for my school sounds good to. I've looked into that and havent quite found an alternative career path outside of cars. Until then, I stay on course and driven to be part of the automotive industry. Patience is virtue at this point.

w/e. like i said take advantage of the place your at until you can find something better. by your posts im guessing you are young. and it has already been said it isnt easy to live in CA. idk what part you are in but so cal is even worse than anywhere else.
talk to your current employer and see if they have reimbursement for school or if they offer training of any sort. and fyi working in the car/aftermarket/parts industry isnt going to pay well unless you have been with a place for a long time or you are upper management.....just so you know
also you kept mentioning falken guys....i know a lot of them that arent very happy/arent paid well and i personally know the guy that is making their life a living hell right now. so remember appearances can be deceiving
