Highway 9 cruises come to an end ("touge" to ricers)
Well..
The time has come, I had predicted this day for a while and tried to warn people about the increased reckless driving on the mountains.
This is mainly for those of you who were saying "let's go for a spirited drive up on the mountains as a 50 person group" and being overcompetitive..
Last weekend I went out for a cruise as I have been doing for the last 10 years.
As i approach the beginning of the course, I noticed some people flagging me down, when i stopped to see what was up, I found out that:
Saratoga police has had it with the numerous crashes reported in the last few weeks and they will enforce the road with cameras and cite tickets for ANY modified cars. Reason for setting up these traps was because they had 3 crashes in 2 consecutive weekends.
The people who warned me not to go had already received tickets for going a couple miles over the speed limit and for being modified.
So this is a warning for everyone that want to go on these "TOUGE" runs (retarded use of JDM terms)
I'm just sick of having nothing to do, late at night when there's nothing to do, people were able to enjoy a nice drive at night but no longer.
I was once CHASED by some people who are there all night, and when they pulled over after we stopped they told me that they were PURPOSELY "pushing my limits"
With that said I can see why people are getting into accidents.
All in all, it was fun while it lasted...
Special thanks to Initial D and the 4wd inexperienced ricers!!

sucks but if you liked to drive it then others like to drive it as well, you can't claim something as your own though of course the idiot ricers crashing didn't help much.. i used to ride my bike up skyline when i lived in santa cruz so i know it sucks to lose such a nice drive/ride..
upside is there is TONS of roads just like skyline in those mountains and i know the ricers don't know of many of them. one i also liked was old highway 17, the frontage road that goes through the mountains for about half the length of highway 17 and plenty of offshoots that are just as nice of a drive and less traffic to worry about.

You're right, I don't own the road, just pointing out that it sucks not being able to drive out there in peace as I used to.

There's still quite a few nice roads running down the coast. Thankfully, most retards out there don't know about them and don't have the means to find out about them. Hopefully the next time I go on a drive I can have a decent road to drive around on.

I know ive been looking up roads to drive on yahoo maps for almost a year now when 9 started getting sketch. I would peruse the mountains and then I go on a safari and see how the road is. Most of the time the end up being peoples private roads or driveways but a few are good and some I've found are almost abandoned.
