Hey to West...

Just registered on the forum; thought I should say hi to the West coast people.

I'm currently stationed here (Tucson, AZ) for the military and have been going through the car seen since I've been here. Started out with an EP3 Civic Si (bolt ons to 220hp) then switched up to a 2004 WRX. Loved that... had it to about 260hp then sold it for what I paid a year later (good deal, right?)
After that I thought I'd try out the DSM side with a 1999 Eclipse GS-T and just made that reliable and clean looking. Sold it for my current car... a 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT (it's a "dumbed down" STi motor that I plan on converting).

Well, I was brought here because I found a really clean 1989 RX7 Convertible that I really want to buy... in fact I am planning on it in the next few days.

Thought I say hey and explain where I'm coming from.

Jeff

Welcome to the West Section. There used to be a lot of activity in this section from all of the Arizona crew but haven't seen too much of them lately. I imagine the Belligerents scared them off.

The West is where it's at. The Belligerents is a non-profit organization who thrives on making fun of other members but all in good fun. Please keep in mind to not take things too literal here since there are plenty of sarcasm all around.

We welcome you with opened arms!

OH....just stay out of the way from that YanniLover....he was just bitched slapped

So... with my last car's forum, it turns out I don't take jokes all too well.... man I need to get laid more often.

I look forward to talking with you people; I'm excited about getting this conv. fc!

I know it's not going to be high hp or crazy looking, but... i think im going to have a lot of fun with it. It will be my 5th japanese car in the last 2 years. But i've heard nothing but good things about my rx7 so I CANT WAIT!!! (except the possible catching fire-ness)

Also, what's this I hear about switching from dual exhaust to single exhaust??? Is it beneficial to the N/A models? I don't see that it would make THAT much of a difference in N/A... I could see the difference in back pressure for a turbo, but... i dont need high hp numbers... is HKS (or aftermarket) dual ok??

Welcome to the boards. I'm stationed at Beale AFB, CA and have been around for a while. Let me know if you need anything bro. BTW, what's your AFSC?

Hey Jeff. If you can't take jokes well, just stay off the radar. Don't make fun of anyone, and don't participate when someone else makes fun of someone else. You should be pretty safe (as long as you don't post asking about some girl you saw in an rx7 or complain about getting a bruise from a golf ball).

Anyhow, the single exhaust question:
The dual exhaust isn't truly a dual exhaust. Going single muffler really doesn't do anything other than reduce weight and look VERY aftermarket. If you go full exhaust, you'll get decent power from an N/A, but it'll still be a pig. It's a fun little project car. I'm sure you'll like. Welcome to the forum!

btw, Series7 is
