Grand Prix Street Circuit Racing plus Chumpcar - Mexicali, BC - May 14-15

So... we all wish we could be Eric Meyer and race our RX-8 at the Long Beach Grand Prix. Fortunately for the rest of us there is still affordable and exciting street racing just South of the Border.

This series has been run in Tijuana, Tecate, Mexicali, San Felipe and Ensenada for over 15 years. However, for the first time we have an entire US Group of racers going down as part of the "Chumpcar" series. "Chumpcar" is an endurance race for $500 cars (like 24 Hours of Lemons).

Mexicali is definately the cleanest and safest city in Northern Baja California and has great food. The city just repaved the circuit for us and it should be a very fun weekend of racing.

You can either run with Chumpcar or you can run with the Mexican Grand Prix cars as I do. All racers with a safe vehicle and a good attitude are welcome. We will all meet at noon at the Walmart in Calexico on Friday May 13th and cross as a group. We'll have our own customs person assigned to us so we should have an easy entry.

I've been racing street circuits in Baja for years and it's a TON of fun with large cheering crowds. A definate compliment to your quiet road course club racing in the states. We've never had any problems and felt unsafe.

Come on down and race with us or just watch and have a good time!

Hey Fisa! Long time! How are you?

Stephen Davis is back in the Bay Area now - but you probably knew that... he's engaged and all that stuff.

I'll be running my RX-8 race car. My RX-7 is currently disassembled and will probably remain so for a while.

You should come down for a mini Mexican vacation

Ya I have talked to Stephen. Sounds like good times for him up on NoCal.

Shoot, Mike and I have a thing to go to Saturday, otherwise we would have come. I wouldn't mind checking out one of those races sometime with the way you guys talked about em. Is that the same race as your video from a few years back?

I think the video was the "Chihuahua Express" which is a road rally. That was a crazy event and SO much fun. We'll do doing the Grand Prix again in August in Ensenada. I'll let you know details and maybe you can plan on it!

We need a few more cars so the price of the Chumpcar entry has been reduced to $250 for 2 drivers! (only two drivers are needed for this event)

This is a SMOKING deal as it includes:

1) THREE Enduros of 3 hours each
2) 2 FIA licenses good for 2011 (These would normally cost more than the entry fee!)
3) The possibility of winning prizes that far exceed the cost of your entry.

The host hotel is very nice and only $60 a night for a double room.

Even if your car would not qualify as a "chumpcar" you can still run with them in the "exhibition" class. You will not be eligable for prizes but everything else is the same.

You can't beat this deal. If anyone is interested please contact me anytime.
