That ticket would break my heart. There is no way I would be able to get passed that ticket. Or at least I would feel that way. Fill us in on the outcome of this. I think we can all learn from this one.

Hey D,

I can get a trial by jury for any moving violation, and or fix-it ticket? How does this work? I did not know I could do that.

The law still states that you're innocent untill proven guilty, but since you don't have a jury in traffic court, you loose with the judge....

Why is that anyhow !? I thought a trial by jury is a amendment right that you have ? Or does that just raise your court costs ??
Why do so few people get trials by jury ? In traffic situations, I'd think you'd get a better shake with 12 of your peers going yeah he f'd up but he shouldn't loose his shirt over it...

No I'm saying I don't know... I thought the constitution provided for innocence untill proven guilty, and a trial by a jury of your peers... I don't know if you are entitiled to this under the V.C. or if you waive that right with your signiature of your licence....

And I seriously doubt you need a jury for a fix it

if anyone needs to get out of a ticket, PM Tanabe. That foo is a cop and can sign off tickets. Only mechanical infractions though, not moving violations. Just an FYI....

same **** happened to me last night in holywood. The bad thing was that cops were pointing all kinds of things out and had NO CLUE what they were talking about. They said the BOV regulates emmissions and that's illegal. I politely corrected him but they still gave me the same tickect. Keep us posted on how it turns out or PM me cause im in the same boat.

thanks

Sorry to hear that man, I moving to central cali next summer and my 7 will never pass CA emissions. My idea is to keep my Vermont registration for-ever. Just renew online and have my parents forward the stickers. They cant say anything about an outta state vehicle, now can they......

Sorry to rain on your parade but a blowoff valve that vents to the atmosphere is illegal.

Finally........I paid around $450 for this ticket without going to state referee.... I'm really really happy about this......it's much better than what i had in mind.(which is make it for off road use only)

so.....i think from now on.....as long as i don't get caught speeding....this is the max price i need to pay to be a Rotory owner.....and hopefully...no more F & F 4.....

anyway,....thanks everyone. i'm going to drive my FD(i didn't drive it after i got ticket)....

drive safe!!!

Repeat offense = impounded car, jail for driver....

Unfortunately a repeat offense is going to yield you jail time and your car will be impounded. I'm afraid the $5M grant to get "street racers" off the street is going to be the death-nell of moddified FDs on the street. Our liberal legislators and the CARB in action - bunch of scary people out to "take care of us". With they'd leave us the hell alone.

Mine is now track only due to this.....but running the car on a track to its full potential with lowered downside risk is the benefit (no speeding tickets, can't hurt anyone who isn't also taking the speed risk, etc). Really looking forward to pushing this car as God intended...got my truck almost paid off, then the trailer (28'x8.5' with all the trimmings inside :-)

I'm going to go ahead and state I don't know much about this subject. But common sense tells me since that he had two choices

1) fix it
or
2) pay fine and don't fix it.

Since he paid a fine to NOT fix it means that he is ok now. So how would he be a repeat offender since the offense was only done once? Meaning that he never took out the legal components more than once.

No you just have to pay the fine each time. There is no repeat offense reprecusions. I asked about it when I got the same ticket and paid the fine instead of fixing it. You are clear once you pay.
