Yeah it's not the initial buying price for the FD that is expensive it's the cost of maintaining it.

Eddie my car is making 220whp (according to blackberry dyno) just wait til I tune it! Then it will still be a slow piece of poop hahaha

+1

Just the bushings alone, as an example.

It cost me on the FC, maybe $250 (energy suspension kit + dtss + f + r diff mounts + subframe mounts)

On the FD, it'll run a little under ~$1000 for a bushing kit + pillowballs/dust shields.

If you buy an FD with a tan interior and want to go black, plan to spend ~$1000, as compared to an FC, maybe $150-200.

Any little misc. interior piece on the FD is going to be $$$

The engine maintenance is relatively the same, but you're going to spend some money going through new solenoids, check valves, etc. to freshen everything up/reliability mods.

The FD definitely has its positives. Drive a mildly modified FD and you'll know why most people love them, even though they can be a PITA to maintain.

Your car's clean Eddie it's an award winner and a show stopper

why would you sell it to someone who most likely doesn't know what they have,

your the one who dropped in 14k because you wanted to and it seems like someone is just trying to gain off of you

but it's your call if you want to start over again and source some sexy parts for your fd

I told myself I'd never sell my FC. Have you ever told yourself the same thing?

Plus, your FC is already built up, for 8k you'll be buying a stock FD (maybe lightly modded) and you'll just be putting yourself into another situation where you have to 'feed' the FD.

IT'S A REAL LIFE MONEY PIT!

trading strait up is the only way to go after dumping money into a car.

the last 3 Rx7's i have owned were trades... and im looking into more trades now!

i say NAY on selling it!!!

if you want a FD project....just start from scratch again

that way you can just drive either one when you want too

Well FYI.... alot of me selling it had to do with me moving the F out of the hood. I talked to a couple people yesterday and I got a good deal on a condo in the Warner Center

We'll be movin on up....to the East side!!!...

So....

I'm keeping the FC.

I know a lot of you will disagree but this is my pride and joy at the moment and to build another car right now, especially a FD, doesent make sense right now... in due time I'll join the 3rd gen brethren

And now.... to continue dumping money into it....

Thank you all for the insight. There are a lot of good reason to sell and not to sell but truth is....I'm a FC guy at heart.

Good point. We spend so much time making our cars our own. When you sell it off, it's kind of like selling off a piece of yourself. Then your cringe when you hear what the guy/girl you sold it to is doing to it.

FC guys do tend to prefer FC's over other models. FD, FB, Old School, etc the same.

id say keep it, it represents you. imo your fc looks better than 90% of fd's out there.

i really dislike kitted fc's but for yours i would def do a trade for my FD if i wasnt doing my engine swap

so keep it, buy a junker fd and make it your reality.

your car is worth more than that.. i pretty much paid more than that for mine, tho i get hated on by people who know whos car it used to be lol =p

If 8k doesnt scream at you, than its not worth giving up your car. Thats my opinion.

If the rolls were reversed on my S5 Turbo Vert, I wouldn't even consider selling it for $8k. So know where you're coming from.
