GMR Sunday, April 10th
GMR - April 10, 2011
The meet point will be at a Kohl's in Upland with a very large parking lot. The address for Kohl's is:
1923 N Campus Ave
Upland, CA 91784
This puts us only about 5 miles or so from the beginning of the run. The total distance for the entire cruise is 43.3 miles. It should last about an hour and a half total. Once we finish the run the meeting point will be at either La Tolteca, or Max's Mexican. We're taking votes on where to eat in the original thread, here. The restaurants are both very close to the end of the run. As of right now, La Tolteca is ahead in the voting and the address is:
429 N Azusa Ave
Azusa, CA 91702
Keep an eye on the original thread though, as the restaurant is subject to change based on the votes. I'll let everyone know which one we choose before we leave the Kohl's lot.
Meet time at the Kohl's in Upland at 2:45p.m. We will leave the lot at 3:30p.m. We should arrive for dinner between 5 and 5:30p.m.
Here is the route we are taking. I will have directions for everyone at the Kohl's and will hand them out before we leave. The drive is a lot of fun and the views are pretty incredible. See you all on the 10th!!!

Thanks to everyone for coming! We had 61+ vehicles. Vipers, Subaru's, Vette's, Mustangs, Camaro's, Evo's, SRT4's, G8, MK IV Supra, a Genesis Coupe, etc.
Here is the media from yesterday. We have pictures of everyone, and also a flyby video
Next month we're doing Upper Tujunga/Angeles Crest. We're currently voting on a date, but I'm leaning towards Sunday, May 15th if that works for everyone.
Thanks again and see you all next month!

I have never been on the Angeles Crest run but everyone says there are a bunch of cops hassling people at GMR. I have personally been on the GMR run a few times and never seen a cop. It was probably one guy that had a friend of a friend of a friend that got a ticket and started posting all over the internet about how many cops there are. On one of the GMR runs a cop sat in the parking lot at the meeting point but he was really cool and did not hassle any of us and he did not try to follow us or anything. From my own experiences cops are pretty cool as long as you are not screwing around in the city or highway. I was on some San Diego mountain roads doing about 75 in a 45-55 and the cop did not even look at me or care, luckly...
The motorgen crew is great. Every different kind of car you can think of and they don't burn out in parking lots and speed through neighborhoods. I think the cops might know this and they cut us a break.
