FS: 94 RX7 5spd in socal
I'm putting my FD on the market. I think I might just buy another car I've been looking at lately. It's a 94 with about 71,000 miles on it. Color is white, interior is black. It's a 5-speed and it's currently having an engine being dropped it.
Mods or upgrades I've done since I've owned the car:
- Brand new intake
- Brand new downpipe
- Brand new midpipe
- Greddy Power Evolution. High flow and one of the best sounding exhaust for the FD. It's not overly loud like an Apexi N1.
- Brand new radiator hoses
- Brand new Exedy clutch (easy to modulate, OEM replacement style that holds 15% more power)
-Engine with around 40k miles being installed. Very good vacuum.
- RE Amemiya ECU
- Magnecore spark plug wires
- Recent sequential turbo hose job
- Recently installed thermostat (Mazda OEM)
Based on what I've read on this forum, this car should be good for high 12's with those mods if you can launch properly.
The car does have a salvage title from a previous accident but it has been repaired.
It needs some minor work but it is in fairly good condition.
Those are the only pics I have at the moment, the car is being worked on currently. I will add more pics as soon as I get the car back.
I've talked with a couple individuals and was told it is worth around $11,900.
PM me if you have any questions.

The engine is a reman with approximately 40k miles on it as stated up top.

Well the paint is chipping in some areas - there's a spot on the rear bumper that needs to be painted.
I believe it also needs toe links replaced soon as I get that common clunk sound when backing out.
Interior squeaks and it is missing the airbags. I probably will get that taken care of since the parts are relatively cheap used, only problem is finding someone offering them.
Can't think of anymore stuff off the top of my head, I'll have to ask Guitarjunkie to check out the car.
Another important thing is the engine is being put in by an experienced rotary mechanic: Guitarjunkie - Dave on this forum. He's worked on FD's, FC's - he even recently completed a port job on an RX8.

Forgot to add that it has a new flywheel (new, not resurfaced) and a leather GSR shift ****. I also had the injectors removed and cleaned. New Mazda metal engine manifold gaskets were installed; new gaskets were used for the dp/mp installation as well. As for suspension mods, it currently has Tokico 5-way adjustables and lowering springs.
Power steering has been removed for road feel. I can't put it back on since I've sold the parts already to another forum member. If you decide you want ps, the parts are pretty cheap and are readily available.

Damn, I can be so indecisive at times. Nevermind, I'm keeping the car; I just saw it today while picking up a clutch and thought about what it could be in time. An R85 turbo is in my future.

Ok, well I might have just changed my mind again. Right now we're actually going to just tear apart the engine and rebuild everything instead of dropping in a used reman. Yeah, that's $$$ but I want the car to last. Guitarjunkie is going to use high-quality parts, new OEM Mazda apex seals are going in, Viton/teflon o-rings--the good stuff you'd want on your own engine. I might have a port job done and we might take out the aftermarket ecu and go with a standalone or piggyback tuned via laptop on the dyno. So if anyone was/is looking, yes, it is still for sale.
If it doesn't sell, oh well, I guess I'll just keep for a few months and sell it this summer when FDs are easier to sell. I'm only looking to sell because I might start business selling bikes or look into some other business venture. So if you want a fairly affordable FD that has new stuff everywhere that you can just drive and enjoy, this is it.
