Well my '95 FD has been fighting this 5th gear syncro issue for the past 7 months. The car only has 43k on it and (only 2k on the new engine). Anyway, getting ready to sell it but the damn 5th gear syncro keeps giving me problems. I have had it fixed by Puresports twice; this time they put in a new gear as well. But on the way home from the shop (only going 65) I shift into 5th and I feel the small notchy grind again. Has anybody fought this same problem with their FD?? All the other gears are perfect no problem just the 4-5th shift. I also make sure the clutch is all the way to the floor before the shift. Btw this car basically sits in my garage (i drive a honda beater) and I only put 500 miles on it last year. Thanks for any help.

try a lighter weight gear oil like synchromesh 75w-90, maybe add in half a quart of ATF as well to thin it out some more.
