CA FD SMOG setups?

Hey All,

Been toying with the idea of selling my FD due to recent life changes and lack of free time. But in the spirit of all rotary owners, that's easier said than done. To add to the fire, smogging my car is always a "search", not to mention becoming more expensive and harder to find each time.

I'm curious as to what others have been doing. Reliability/ownership threads in the 3rd gen forum always point to removing emissions/simplified sequential or just going single, but those owners are never in CA.

For the people that smog their car's legally, what kind of setup are you running and if known, how much power are you putting down?

Has anyone been able to successfully smog a single turbo? Perhaps a SMOG tech who doesn't really care what you have under the hood as long as you pass the rolling test?

Or is everyone pretty much running mild / more or less stock setups? Or do we all just find alternatives to SMOG?

I can tell you this much...

if it doesn't look stock, it'll raise flags. At that point, they'll look at your vacuum diagram which is typically conveniently placed under your hood.

You will need your air pump... they will look for that. It's listed on the label for smog equipment. Since you've gone single, you're probably gotten rid of it.
