^ That would be insane. Watch this video of a supercharged GTO and see how quickly it accelerates. Now imagine that powertrain in a car that weight 1200 lbs less.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=OGF5SRSqUFQ

When I sell my S2K and have enough cash laying around for that buildup I'll be going with an LS2 stroked to 7 Liters with a supercharger. 700hp and 600lbs ft of torque in a 2700lb car.

A local guy who had rebuilt around 30 motors as a side job, once i broke the engine in, the compression was good, I still suspect something else went wrong..

Not sure yet, once I really decide whether to keep or not, most of me wants me to keep it, along with many members on this forum so I might just do that, but I'm just undecided right now..

Was this at the Krispy Kream meet? Sorry I have the worst memory.. Thanks I might just keep it since I can't find myself interested in anything else (that i can afford anyway)

Thanks DC,
I love the looks of the FD but lately there's just been too many people doing LS1 FDs, and I'm not a fan of copying other people. (They're my good friends) LS1FD is indeed an awesome setup, but I like to be different, at this rate that people are converting over to LS1, Rotary powered FDs will be the "unique setup"

Also Z06's have come down in price quite a bit, ($35,000 gets you a decent mileage and only a few years old) I'd probably get a C5 and mod it. The only concern about LS1FD is the smog legalization, although possible, it's more work than I'd want to get myself into.

I have both and the single turbo rotory is much more civil to drive around, but then again my ls1 is no were near stock.

I say rebuild or find a low milage motor to throw in there. I might have one laying around if you need one

Oh yeah jackie why not LS9 out of the new corvette blue devil or stingray. Or just build a War Hawk small block 454

I Understad that, but from going to Seven-Not-Stock last year... I remember 4 LS1 FD's in the LA area... everybody else is gathering parts or full of BS....
I have a feeling that those swaps will be like 3 or 4 rotor conversions, everybody sais they're doing one, yet only a handfull actually complete it...

Karack is 45 miles north of Sacramento and his rates are about the best around. Not to mention his quality of work is also arguably the best in NorCal. PM him on this forum.

Yeah I went to the Seven Not Stock Last year also and there weren't that many of them, over here i can name quite a few
mike with the ls7, mark doing the same, audiobot7, jic, rx7what, sonny from rotary extreme, rastajah, among a few others.

But yeah I agree with you, most people are all talk, especially the noobs telling you they're going to do a 20b when they just got their cars out of high school from mommy and daddy

The LS9 is the engine going in the 2008 Corvette SS. It's supercharged and is going to make 600HP. The Corvette SS is going to weigh 2,900 and cost $100,000.

selling it is never an option... rebuild it or throw a mazda rebuild in there if you know how to do an engine swap

I was just disappointed that I did everything carefully when I swapped the engine out 20k ago, I was just not expecting it to blow at this point.. that's the only thing that pisses me off.. I was hoping to get around 60k on the rebuild...

next time when you rebuild it, use RA or Atkins seals, and use a brand new rotor housing (or both) because IMO used, remanufactured or resurfaced rotor housings arent worth it. you might as well replace it with new stuff while the engine is apart.

my friend and I are working out of a shop in Antioch, CA and are trying to start the next "Rotorhead" shop in the bay area. We have an FD in there right now, and an FC is next but the shop will be available in about a week or two, you can bring it in if youd like.

We can rebuild your whole engine for $3600

Includes:
Brand new Mazda rotor housing
Complete Gasket kit/set (everything)
Rotary Aviation 2mm Apex Seals
Labor (Motor Removal/Rebuild/Reinstall)

This is of course an estimate guessing that you only need to replace your apex seal, and a rotor housing.

come to think of it, If i sell most my aftermarket parts, I can get a mr2 daily driver and keep the fd til I find time / money to fix it, but at that time, the FD will be back to stock..

stock fd's are far sexier than no fd at all.

Maybe it wants to be stock before a single snail crawls under its hood...
