CA FC3C N/A 91 won't start any more.

So I have a 91FC3C N/A 91 that won't start anymore. So it was running and I knew I had some Codes because I've been working on it slowly. So the car was running and I was warming it up and let it idle for about 10mins, after that it shut down on me. Car wouldn't start after that and all the codes have gone away. I probably think that the engine is flooded and also the ECU is fried. I don't have long enough sockets to get the spark plugs out to deflood the engine. If any is around the west los angeles area it would be great for a lending hand. ( I buy lunch ) Thanks!

Don't take this wrong but... got gas in it?

Also, check ECU fuse.

Gas? that is that some magical fairy dust? Lol. Yeah there is gas in it. Gauge reads half a tank and I even knocked on the tank to hear if its empty or not.

The ECU has a fuse? ( being serious about this one)
Is it where the other fuses are or is it the one in the engine bay with the headlight fuse?

I'm not an FC expert, but most ECUs on car's I've worked on have a dedicated fuse, due to their being sensitive and expensive, and tied into most everything in the car.

Often, they are adjacent to the ECU.

I'm DL'ing the '91 wiring diagram now; I'll let you know if there is one.

For what it's worth, the ECU's memory backup is fed from a 7.5A fuse labelled "ROOM" on the main fuse block. That looks to be the source of power for the ECU when everything else is turned off - - and losing that fuse would probably cause code erasure when the ignition's off. I don't know if it would also prevent ignition, though.

Same fuse runs your in-cabin lights and the theft-deterrent system.

I'd check that one first, and also the 15A "ENGINE" and 30A "EGI" fuse.

Good luck.

Last thing; you can get your wiring diagram and your service manual from here:

http://foxed.ca/index.php?page=rx7manual#secondgen

Comes in handy.

Update, Tomorrow I will be checking the fuses and hopefully borrowing a deep socket to take out the spark plugs to deflood the engine.

Thanks DivinDriver! It came out to be the EGI fuse. Since I didn't have an extra one laying around I pulled the one off the headlight and used it for that.
