Emissions Monitor Tustin Onramp 91E

Anyone ever drive by one of these, there was one off the 91E onramp from tustin this morning. Was wondering wat they do with it. Is it just for collecting data like how much emissions are still coming out of cars, or are they gonna send me a state ref ticket or something.

The last one I rolled through had a camera setup, so they might send you something...

yes sir........a "friendly reminder" that you dont pass with a letter telling them how they caught ya.Then you can expect a test only smog on your next registration. They tried to revoke REG till you pass a smog, by the courts through that part of the bill out thank god! That is why I race up to it,push in the clutch and turn off the car as I roll through. If your not too worried about it, you could just coast with the clutch in.

there was no way i cuda coasted thru it, they put it right after the stop light on the on ramp, so you had to gas it to get movin, plus there was traffic in front and behind me

Damn thats a fucked spot for one. Atleast it wasnt the mobile dyno the CHP sets up. You think you were in boost? If ya just passed this month it has to help I would think. If thats your car in the sig, I would say your fucked when they see that pic though lol.

This is dumb

Global warming is a revenue scam. To get you to pay more for tickets and fines, and to pay 7,000 over msrp for a prius. BS I thought emissions

I saw one on a freeway ramp that merged onto the freeway I was on. I saw some lights and thought it was a smog sniffer. Got way over into the left lane and shut the car off. Haven't gotten anything in the mail, and that was last month.

Great systems they got there. They look at the smoke in the air and have little sniffers.

But the whole thing is defeated by letting off the gas. Especially newer cars that almost completely shot off gas flow when you come off throttle.

Ever notice they always put them on an UPHILL and very SHORT onramp. That is unfair, they know you are gonna be heavy on the throttle.

There's a reason your smog tech doesn't get on the boost when you're in test only. He'd fail regardless... The smog thing isn't accurate since you can't check for something that you have no RPM's and Accurate speed for, since speed will increase or decrease as you pull through. So at best what they can do is check to see if you're polluting more than normal, and if you have a cat period. So another good reason not to put a midpipe in. Highflow cat = win.... When I had an oil seal problem with my turbo they sent me a letter stating that I had to reply by mail, and state weather I'd fix it or not, and if I did not, that I would be caught at the next smog check etc... and how I could get $$ for a polluting car for hardship etc... and that my next checkup would be test only which was the case previously.

Although you're correct, I'm from SD, and I spend as much time as possible down that way.
