Easterner driving in California.

Hello all, need a little local information.

Going to be driving from Las Vegas to San Francisco this Friday.

Any hot spots (speed traps) or bad construction I should be aware of along I-15, I-40, I-5?

Is it reasonable to assume I can do the trip in 8 hours?

If you have coilover suspension, set it on "soft" for the Superslab highyway between Las Vegas and LA.
Ba-BUMP! ba-BUMP!

It'll probably take just about 8 hours, maybe more like 9.

if you're going straight to SF from LV, then your route will be 15 to 58 to 5.

Just be careful @ 58 near Barstow area...its a 2 lane road. Lots of trucks btw

I will be in a rental car - hopefully a Ford Fusion - if it is anything like the old Taurus, it should drive well.
