Hi Everyone,
I am so looking forward to seeing all of you again. I can't believe it will be our 3rd drive and that Dave's been gone almost 2 years. I hope all of you are doing well.

Does anyone know if there was a particular stretch of road that Dave loved? I was thinking that after the short cruise we usually do (start out at the church and go up the mountain and turn around and park at the crash site) that maybe we could do a longer cruise. Let me know what you think.

can you explain please in details the planned route for this cruise and are you guys planning a pit stop some where???

 

we are still getting all the details worked out. I think it would be nice to do the cruise and stop somewhere for food. I am open to the route and the place to eat.

Dave's mom- i have subscribed to this thread, I'll be looking forward to the route plans. thank you.

 

i do know that dave loved red road.... basically, after the stop on hwy 18, we continue up it, and go down hwy 138.... i rememeber a conversation with him, and we were both talking about that road..... just a thought

 

he is also th one that introduced us to Idlewile..... that would be a long drive though....

in fact, that was the first time Jesse and I met Dave.

 

Idyllwild's a good road, and lake Hemet is good fishing!

138 sounds like a good plan, it's not fast, and is full of 15-20 mph corners!

There's a problem though:

January is still snow season, so the roads might not be suitable for sports cars. Ask me how I know lol.

 

^^^^lol, yeah, but thats just more reason to make it just a medium paced cruise... (but im safe, i have all wheel drive)

 

... yeah, its not like any one is going to want to blast through there on a memorial drive.

I'm down for a 138 (red road) drive. (assuming its not in the middle of a blizzard, in which case, almost all mountain drives would be a no go).
