CA Current lurker, possible owner.

Just stopping in to say hello in the regional area. Names Jared and im from northern california area. Ive been eyeing a new rwd project lately and have been thinking about an FC so i begun lurking on the rx7 forums.

Originality I was looking for some rwd japanese car to drop an LS1 into. I had thought I had settled on a 240z but a friend suggested an rx7 fc to me. More ive been reading up on rotaries the more I dig them. Its rwd and with an unique power plant, something different.

Anyways, this is the car. 3" DP, turbo timer, cat back and some other crap. Owner says it has a hot start issue which is either low compression, leaky injectors or some sensor on the thermostat. Im going to think its the worst and settle for a rebuild. But for 1500 bucks, it runs and drives. Should be a fun project car

It's not so much that we don't like them, but they are 2nd on the hierarchy after any rotary engine. I'm a stalwart for rotaries myself, but given the chance to put any other engine (besides a rotary) in my car i'd probably have to choose one of those pushrod behemoths over another small displacement motor.
