Crosby had black rims with red "time attack" lines on them.

I'm Pretty sure this isnt Dcrosby.

It is DCrosby. The red FD with the time attack wheels was purchased after he flipped the one in the pic.

Yes... that is mr. crosby's car. I was there when 1984se came and told me/us that DC had disappeared... i went back and DC had crawled out of the ravine and was standing by the side of the road. The interesting part was when the CHP showed up, and he had to explain what had happened... i remember the officer saying to DC, "let me guess... you weren't speeding, right?". Then we waited for the paramedics and he was wisked off to the hospital for a check up... fortunately all checked out well and he was released.

It happened on Mount Emma Rd. off Angeles Crest Hwy. In a fairly fast section of road.

I remember the Ojai/Santa Maria cruise. That was epic, with Jro and I leading the blind. When we got to the restaurant, I didn't even know where the heck we were.

I vote for cruise! but then again, gas was $1.35/gal back then.

Ahhh the bad old days...

Yes that was my First FD, Touring Model With Glass Sunroof, which miraculously escaped and was sold, the scoot hood I have to this day, it has some 2-3mm scratches over the drivers side headlight cutout, and otherwise is spotless... and I did walk out with my ECU, but at that time it was an AEM unit, which failed 2-3 years later where the EPROMS self destructed, and got replaced, and then took out my second motor, and then got replaced by a PFC, which took out my last rotary.

The cop might have said let me guess you weren't speeding, but to my memory the >>Funny<< part was that the cop said "You Destroyed MY car !" to which I was "WTF?", CHP: "Yeah I was saving for a black FD, and in 3-6 Months I have enough to go get one".

I was crushed, my dream car was destroyed, and I was scared / relived that I hadn't hurt anybody else in that incident. And you are right, I swore Myself I'd never drive like that again on public roads, and I never have. I do take my skills to the limit on the track sometime, but never again on public roads... To this day I'm grateful for the lesson it taught me about responsibility, in a non life threatening way.
