Looks like I will be headed to San Francisco for a few days in July. Have plans for that Saturday, but things look pretty open the rest of the time. Anything going on rotary-wise that weekend? Any places that I could rent a RX8 for the weekend? Any good roads nearby? I really would like to take Monday morning and hit some roads. I'm even willing to stay an additional day of it takes it.

unfrtunately the big rotary event is happening a week and a half before you get to SF....

Well, I will definately be out there that specific weekend - have a wedding there to attend on the 8th. I came out last year, but it was for MotoGP. This year I can only make it out there once and the wedding has to be the priority. So I would like to meet up with some other 7 owners. Planning on renting a RX8 while I'm there (so I won't go through withdrawals). Need some good roads to run while I'm there also.

If u wanna take some good roads let me know. I know a bunch up here in the North Bay. In the Napa Valley. Its like 30 miles North of SF. I know of some bad *** roads. We touge all the time. I herd once that our moutain roads here in Napa are the closest in the world to resembling the moutain roads in Japan. Ok well hope to hear from ya.

 

I definately want to hit some roads there. Most of the West Coast (Cali) canyon roads that I have been on are smooth turns - like a roller coaster. I am used to running more hairpins and extreme elevation changes (US129, 60, etc.) Since I will have my wife with me, it will probably have to be on Monday.

 

Shoot me a PM when your in town if you want. A few friends and i have a lil' touge club, and we meet about once a week for drives. maybe we could show you some roads.
