check under the hood?
I was wondering, I don't know what the laws are in california anymore, so if anyone can answer this question.
If you're caught speeding, running a stop light, or loud exhaust noise...etc, does the cop have a right to check under the hood, or can you tell them not to. just wondering since I'm running single turbo now.
anyone have any experiences that can answer the question?

27156(b) of the California Vehicle Code allows ANY peace officers in the course of there duty to inspect not search a vehicle for any modifications. That includes opening the hood, failure to comply will probably result in obstructing or delaying the officer.

My boy did the same thing more or less, he has a solenoid hooked up to the hood pop with a switch under the dash. Then the original hood pop is still in place but the cable is dead ended, he unraveled the cable and wired one strand around something that isn't going to move.
Last week a cop made him sit by the side of the road and then went to pop the hood. He said it was stiff and pulled harder breaking the thin strand with a nice sound, and the hood popper came out in his hand. He said the cop looked really embaresed and let him go.
