cheap plastic-safe solvent?

like the title says,

anyone know of a cheap solvent/cleaner that I can use to clean grease off plastic without dissolving, staining it? Should I just go with soap and water? I saw "electric part cleaner" at the autoparts store, but $4 a can is a bit of a kick to the wallet iykwis, so yeah......

try simple green. It's pretty mild stuff, and it works pretty well.

watch out if you use Purple Power, that **** took most of the skin off my hands before... I use PP in my parts tank, cleans really well.

But for plastic, just try using warm soapy water with a brush or rag.

Ater you get done cleaning, if you need to remove scratches, haze or just want to polish your plastic parts. Get some Plastic cleaner called Novus. It's one of the best products for plastic that you can buy.
