Catalytic converter w out air tube!?

I came to a muffler shop to have a cat installed, and every company that makes a cat for the FD doesn't make it with an air tube. What's up with that? And suggestions? Can I just weld an air tube on?

Tri-point engineering sells a 100% correct catalytic converter for FD's. it comes with a 50 state legal catalytic converter. It is 3" 304 stainless steel.
