Looks like a good hit.

I believe the DOI (department of insurance) gives insurance companies 30 days or so to determine whether the other party was uninsured. It may be sixty days, but you should ask your adjuster.

Here are some other things to ask your adjuster:
1. How fast can you get the police report? Would it be faster if I order it? (LAPD takes forever and a day)
2. Do we know if the claimant vehicle was uninsured at the time of the loss? If yes, can you apply my CDW? (If not) How soon until you can apply it?
3. (If the other guy had insurance) Has the other party's carrier accepted liability?

Once a claimant carrier has accepted liability, most insurance companies will waive your deductible. I'm going against popular thinking here, but you may want to go through your own insurance company for repairs due to customer service issues and the convinience (you're not always fighting the other guy's insurance). Your company will get their money back anyway.

These things can take time so be patient and keep an open line of communication with your adjuster. Adjusters have a lot of cases and the ones that stand out are the ones where people call. Don't call too much though, it will **** him or her off.
