I've got to get my 3rd Gen smogged. It will pass emissions - just not visual since the IC & intake are not stock.

Can someone respond or PM me for getting passed? Thanks much - any help is highly appreciated!

All aftermarket intercoolers are legal as long as you are still using the stock turbos. Depending on what intake you currently have, there are other intakes out there that are legal as well.

 

All filters are legal though right? sometimes cops make me think my wing and gutted interior is illegal -_-

 

take it to a pass or dont pay, and try your luck.....act stupid, and say it will pass!

 

I do not know of any Test Only Stations (RX-7s are targetted as gross polluters so they must all go to Test only stations) that will pass my car due to visual (even with my hi flow cat installed - its got not pre cat, has an M2 CAI, & an M2 Race IC). While it can/has passed the emissions test, I'm not seein' how it can pass visual without some leniency?

This is wrong, I have an older car than you and about 6 months ago I got a notice for a normal smog test.
Additionally, it was in santa cruz which is very close to you.
Also, as a note you're very unlikely to find a test-only hookup.

You must be the exception. I had an FC Turbo II (sold it) & my FD - both required Test Only stations (every 2 yrs I get the same notice - it's ridiculous).
