Angry Berkeley cops giving ricer a hard time

I was going to the autozone on MLK in berkeley and I saw this biker cop (very butch) had pulled over this guy in an acura or honda or whatever, and had his hood up. I watched for a bit then went into the store, when I came back out the 'special crime unit' van came up.

They did measure the distance to the ground on the car. I doubt they got him for any mods since it was a very riced out car with a cheap body kit and wing and gaudy paint job.

But I was thinking "oh **** that could be me" not that my car looks it but under the hood is where my rice cooker is. Lord knows I've got bad luck with smog *****.

Anyone else seen this kind of police activities lately?

You should have gotten their names, I would buy them a beer for a job well done. If his car was horrible enough to attract cops, serves him right. And what ever rationale you use, pretty much any modification you do to your car thats in between the air filter and the cat convertor is illegal.

Cops dont bust you for doing legal things.

I got pulled over for unusual noise for my exhaust. Best part was, first things out of the cops mouth were, "Nothing's wrong with your driving but your exhaust is modified." Showed him the BAR papers said they didn't mean **** since they didn't specify exhaust systems, (honestly, what stock exhaust is going to produce 91.4 dB).

It kind of pisses me off that cops spend so much time and money on ending street racing when more babies were killed last year drowning in 5-gallon buckets (very specific statistic, I know) than there were street-racing related deaths last year. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of retards out there who shouldn't even be allowed to touch their cars, but it really sucks when cops "crack down" on people who want to drive their fast cars (which they race at legal venues) to work/school every day.

hahaha, dude, I've got that HKS intake, and the cop who pulled me over didn't even bother asking for a sticker for it, he pops the hood looks around, says everything looks legal here and puts the hood down.

yea, I feel ya on the jury duty, I was stuck there for four days.

i got pulled over for the noisy exhaust and a crack windshield and got them both taken care of but what i thought was funny was that (i dont have any badges right now just painted my car a lil while ago) the cop knew it was an Rx-7. i also found out that the dB level is 81-83!!!

cops were all abused children. they want the power because they've felt weak all their lives.

Berkeley police sucks, at least the other cities ticket people under the guise of safety. I've had 2 separate occasions where the cop told me they ticketed me cause the city needed money.

I was driving around at niight here in Vista CA a couple few weeks ago. The light turns green, and I was doing some road tuning... so I open up the wastegate and log my AFR's... (4" straight pipe, all the way... no restriction) - well.. the cop gets on my ***. I got Arizona Plates in SoCal... (military). He follows me for a couple blocks and I get in the left hand turn lane to take a left... he pulls up next to me (right) and decides to stop the traffic behind him. It went something like this.

Cop: "Is it fast?"
Me: "When I want it to be."
Cop: "Yeah, I noticed when you took off from that green light back on Vista Way."
Me: "I mis-shifted"
Cop: "Uh huh... I also hear you have a modified exhaust."
Me: "Yes Sir.:
Cop: "I wouldn't do anything to attract attention to myself if I were you, have a nice night."

He could have got me for speeding (50 or so in a 35). Luckily since the place I register my car at in AZ doesn't require any emissions, I do with it as I please. My neighbors however have threatened to call the cops because I let it warm up in the morning for 5 minutes... which still isn't enough. I start the car up at 4:30am somtimes 5am... and they bitch. The ******* train goes by loud as ****, and there are peacocks out here that don't STFU, and cats ******* at night... you don't hear me bitching.

Anyway.. thought I would rant.
