I'm in Phoenix and I brought my FD in from out of state 6 years ago and my DMV inspection was about a total of 30 mins just a cursory look. I only need to get sniffed every 2 years and they don't look all that hard... They usually ask what year the car is and remark that you don't see many of those anymore, nice ride, etc. The classic insurance guys are correct with what they posted, I'm looking at possibly going with Haggerty myself...
