Hey,
Been a while but I bought another FD and have started getting to working finishing bringing it back to life. I have quite a few parts I am going to be listing for sale, some I would prefer not to ship but I am sure they can be helpful to those around me.
So I have a 93 FD LHD and it has an LS1 Swap (I know some will hate that, sorry) and I am working on the bodywork and basically just trying to clean up the interior and make it a nice looking FD again.
I have a list I keep adding to of things I need to correct on it, I am hoping to find some good local contacts for getting my hands on pieces like the tail light's have the clips they slide into that are supposed to stay in the body, I need 3 of them and have no idea what they are called other than I know they are also on the Mazda MX-6's as well.
One of my issues is getting the gauge cluster working, I wired up the tach but it's not moving at all sadly... I checked and the signal the PCM is sending out is correct so that's worrying me.
I also can't get the Headlight motors to get power it seems, they move if I manually turn them but it's like they are not even getting power.
My Wiper Arms don't seem like the right ones, they either hit the hood or the cowl or they sit 1/4 of the way up the windshield when off... not sure what to make of this yet. Tried adjusting them but that's when I found they it the hood or the cowl.
I am missing a swaybar bracket for the passenger side, hoping they aren't too hard to find.
My Door locks try to work but I think they need to be regreased. I am hoping there is a guide I can follow to get some good idea's on where to deal with this and how because as of now I can't lock the car as the doors won't always unlock.
My Cluster hood was repaired but other tabs are broken attaching it to the gauge cluster bezel so I need some guidance on the methods people have used to fix the plastics on that... really don't want all of that rattling like crazy when I drive.
I am trying to find the stock Coolant and Oil Pressure Sensors, I was given a lot of extra wiring so I am hoping I can get the sensors and find the connectors and wire those up so they work in the gauge cluster. I really want the cluster to work like stock, well as close as I can get.
I am missing quite a few interior pieces that I will list off but I could use some help finding them. For now, I am looking through Facebook Groups, The Classifieds here, and other places hoping to find them.
1) Shift Boot Trim Ring
2) Center Console Pocket or ashtray pieces
3) The Buttons for the center console or just blanks if they make them.
4) The Passenger Side Door Trim Piece that says RX-7, need to find out the name of this piece
5) Rear Hatch Plastics, just the lower back hatch pieces, I thought I found them but I was wrong.
I have a lot of aftermarket and stock pieces I got with the car that I do not need so if any locals need them I am going to post stuff in the western classifieds section, again local pick-up is preferred especially on things like the Spoiler, Tails, Wheels.
Hopefully, I will get the car out soon and be able to meet a few others.
Thanks
