Anyone up for a serious road trip summer 2010?

I know some of you are familiar with the concept of Seven Not Stock, the party founded by a bunch of v8-seven guys. The So-Cal v8 crew have been hosting an annual after party following Seven Stock each year and inviting out everyone out for our traditional steaks and beer.

However, you may or may not know that the original SNS was an east coast thing that was (and is) a stand-alone weekend event. It usually involved some kind of racing (drag and/or autocross) and tends to get more like 20-30 heavy hitter swapped cars in attendance. I've always wanted to make the drive to the orginal event and this year looks like it'll be hosted in Davenport Iowa which just happens to be where my best man lives (so I have double the reason to make the drive)

There's at least 4 so-calers contemplating the drive (Brismo7 and I are probably the most regular west forum guys) and I wanted to ask if anyone else was interested in a crazy road trip caravan? Rotaries are welcome as I always maintain there are many versions of "not stock" and it'll certainly be your chance to represent against a stack of v8 cars (but be prepared for some good natured trash talking if I know my east coast bretheren).

Dates are still pending, but I wanted to throw it out early to get folks thinking about it as I know there are vacations to plan. It's 1800 miles one way, we'll hopefully have at a trailer or two involved in case someone breaks. Plan on a three day drive each way with a bunch of camping to keep costs down (you're welcome to hotel it if you prefer). There's a whole lot of countryside between here and there so it should be an adventure for sure. I'll be bringing my wife and a newborn so families/significant others are definitely welcome.

Some folks on here are always saying you want opportunity to represent the rotary. Well, here's your chance...

-Joel

Be prepared for the suck that is Wyoming and Nebraska. 800 miles of nothing.

Road trip is on...

http://www.norotors.com/index.php/topic,459.0.html

SevenNotStock goes down on August 13-15, in Davenport IA. I'm taking both the weeks on either side off.

Robert (FC3S91) is loaning me his trailer so I can bring my family and tow out. This also means that if someone breaks down we can juggle who's getting hauled. I'll have a couple spare FC axles with me.

Don't mind the title of the new web forum (v8rx7forum.com was shut down after a fight with the owner) all cars are welcome and I'd love to see a couple hot rotaries come out and try to show the swappers what's what... Expect friendly competition but they're good people. We'll have a drag race Friday night, dyno Saturday, and autocross Sunday. Who's got the sauce to get it done?
