Anyone in Thousand Oaks, Westlake, Camarillo area?

I am located in Thousand Oaks and am on the verge of buying a nice '93 RX-7 touring model, only thing is, I have never sat in one!! I am 6'1" 170lbs and will be using the car to auto-x and track and am not sure about the headroom.

I was just wondering if some nice person nearby would let me sit in their car with my helmet on just so I can see what the headroom is like. Preferably a fd with a sunroof, but I'll take what I can get. Thanks!

You'll clip the roof. Especially if you have a long torso. I suggest a custom seat for the FD so it sits low and gives you more headroom.

Thanks for the reply, Wapelhj was kind enough to let me sit in his FD when I went to go check out his wheels for sale, which I will probably buy as soon as the car is in the garage. I am now doing research tryin to find out which aftermarket seat will give me the most headroom, since my helmet did indeed hit. It seems the corbeau seat rails actually raise the seats, decreasing headroom, any idea on a reasonably priced seat that will give the most headroom?

Thanks again for lettin me try out my helmet in your car Jim!

Your best bet is custom brackets with a seat that sits near flush to the floor. I have this problem in my 2nd gen rx7s, and I just might custom make my own seat out of aluminum and go have it stuffed for cusioning... As for width... I have a 38 size waist and alot of seats out there I just DO NOT fit in... Period.

There is a shop in Simi Valley off First street called "Hawaii Racing". They carry alot of inventory out there and they might have a few seats for you to sit in.
