anyone in the oxnard area I need to barrow a flywheel.

Well I need to take the front crank bolt off, but I need a stock flywheel so I can brake the the nut loose.

Yes I tryed heating it no luck, and I went out and got a impact gun 730 ftlbs @90psi so I turned it up to 120. still no luck.

Andy I've got a stock FD flywheel I'll send back with Miguel when he comes out tomorrow night. Do you have the nut and woodruff key, or do you need that too?

Welcome to the world of rotaries. 190 lb-ft of torque, an inch of threads and Locktite make that bolt a lot of fun.

Did you order the flywheel locker tool from Mazdatrix that bolts onto the back of the engine and locks the flywheel? That works GREAT, that's what I use.

heat the bolt up until its cherry red, it really takes an oxy gas torch or at least a good map gas torch to do this.

Once its red it will spin off with the impact wrench.

Map gas which gets far hotter than propane can be run with the same torch head as propane and is available at home depot or lowes for about 10 dollars per cylinder
