i've got an english dvd that won't play in my normal dvd player.

does anyone have a converter that can read pal (at least i think it's pal), but copy it onto ntsc format?

Also, there is no simple way to do the conversion since the framerate and video resolution is different.

What i would do is use DVD Decrypter (free) and rip the DVD to your hard drive. You can probably view it on your PC. But, if you want to try the conversion.. after you rip it get a program called DVDLAb - and you have to add the VOB files individually onto the disc. Then make sure the NTSC framerate is selected.

It really is a PITA - best bet is to get a region-free dvd player.. or like a cheap apex dvd player from walmart. They go for around $40 and are worth every cent.

 

it used to play on my computer, but i was only allowed to set the regional setting so many times. sucks man, one of my favorite movies too.
