anyone good with electrical shiz =]
All the lights went out at once? Are we talking about just the lights for the guages or all the indicators too? Have you taken the cluster out to take a look?
Btw, it might help if you tell us what car you're talking about.

well the cluster has been out for a couple weeks. the clock and cigg lighter went out last night =/ when the cluster went out all my aftermarket guages went out too. (the cluster went out after best buy installed my stereo but they refused to fix it saying they had nothing to do with it) my friend rewired just the aftermarket guages so they turn on but couldnt figure out what was wrong with my cluster. and yah sorry for not clarifying. its a 89 GTUs TII. checked all the fuses, everything is fine. all the warning lights still work and the blinkers light up but everything in the cluster wont =[ and yes i checked the dimmer.

the ******** probably hooked up the dimmer wire, which in old cars puts a strain on it with alot of resistance, pull the unit and see isf they hooked that wire up, that is probably it
Look where they tapped the power for the deck, or just temporarily unhook the deck, and then see if everything comes back on....
If all else fails, look at the wireing diagram, and find out what in the fuse box has 12v switched (when Ign. Key in Acc Position) and wire that into where the diagram lists power for dash lights, prefereably before the dimmer so you can still controll the brightness.
Disconnect the dash 12V wire from where it used to come from first, of course....
Also a voltmeter is about $30 - $50 and is your best friend..... I'm sure you can find tutorials about how to use one online as well....
