Anyone ever get ref'd for single turbo?

I havent, thank god, knock on wood.

But just wondering if anyone else here has gotten poped with a single turbo 7.

Considering if youre single and ported, youre probably beyond the point of going back to stock. It almost seems like the only option is buying a US motor and leaving it in your closet in reserve with all the stock parts to convert it back to a totally stock running car. But that would be nuts to do everytime.

For those of you that have been popped, what have you done?

Not to mention i run premix, having a spare stock motor is almost the only option id have it seems like, thats why i gotta ask to see what others have done as an alternative, other then selling the car, and no im not selling it if i get popped, no V8 for me either. unless its a ferrari 430 motor

I know a few guy's that have gotten refed for chrome intercoller piping. I've heard also that some cops are taking pictures of the car when the issue the ref ticket so if you do change it back they have evidence of otherwise.

How do you get passed smog now?

i thought for a ref ticket, you have to go to a special inspection that you can't pass unless everything is verified as stock (or you can replace w/ a newer motor, i think)

A friend of mine was ref'd for a stock UIM. The only thing with it was it was polished! He also ended up just paying a fine instead of appearing in court. Always check the violation code. Might be a way around and out of trouble.

Register it in another state. Best bet.

Or, get a Kaizo Car like mine (Buy a legal rolling shell from Kaizo, and put your engine in it). Even if the police wanted to send me to the ref they cannot because i can apply for DMV Kit car Smog excemption. But, i chose florida plates in the first place.

Daily driven GT-R, not been pulled over once. No Cats either

Speaking of the state ref, looks like they took a financial ****. Too bad, guess that is how the cookie crumbles.
