Damn I searched and searched, I tried to have my lowering springs by this meet, because I already have my new shocks waitng, but the tanabe gf210 are on back order from every company I called, ha I don't want to show up on stock ride height, I will probaby have the ugliest car there if I go, why does no one have good springs in stock, Vipers do you have coilovers or springs, I like your ride height

Vipers is running on cut springs for now, he is going with coil overs soon i belive. My drag car is on cut springs up front, and coil overs on the rear. (just in case you wanted my two cents.)

Yeah I have done a lot to this car, you can't tell from the outside, but first I focused on just getting it to run right then, and fix the broken stuff, then a few minor upgrades, now waiting on the suspension parts to arive, and finally make this thing look better, I bought it with minor body damage, to each side but it is defiantly coming along, I kinda wish I didn't have my other car so all my money could go into this one, oh yeah what do you think of a 1.4 drop in the front and 0.8 in the back would the car look decent still most springs I have seen have about a equal drop front to rear, and ok I will be there, I want to check out some other rx7's

Dude, it's a meet and hang out event, not a car show or a race or anything. If you want to hang out with fellow rotor-heads, show up. If not, have fun at home, or catch up on projects or whatever. It's a monthly thing, so maybe you can make it next month.

See you guys there...

whew....... we survived!!! besides two incidences, the day went very well............. somehow we lost riccio (so sorry, fc3stech went back to look for you, but it was hopeless).... and a few minutes after we lost riccio, speeddemon picked up a huge spike in his rear tire......... well, rx8s dont come with spare tires from the factory (isnt that smart)... so we had to get the wheel off, and take it to a tire shop...... luckily, redbaron had a spare 18" tire at his house, so they went and got it, and had it installed..... while the rest of us waited on the side of the road...... but it was fun.......

there was 9 rotaries that showed up
3 rx8's, 2 fd's, 2 turbo fc's, and 2 na fc's............ plus a 500hp mitsu evo, a twin turbo 300zx, and a 01' prelude....
all in all 12 cars............ it was alot of fun...........

we will post the next meetup info here in a few days........ so stay tuned.... same bat time, same bat channel

thanks for showing up..... hope you all had a good time..
-speeddemon32 (better luck next time)
-fc3stech (hope to see you at the next meet)
-scotty305 (someone was late...lol j/k)
-riccio (i feel so bad we lost you)
-zero83 (been to every meet, your officially a groupie!!)
-redbaron7 (cant wait to see that fd up and running)
-triggerx1 (nice rx8, thanx for taking time to drive from the OC)
-??????? (mr white fc guy....... start posting!!)

hahaha....heres some more laughs to the rx8 tire blow out.....after thinking that my tranny was dead and that i needed to replace it i was in for a great surprise.....i started to remove the tranny while i first removed the heat shield...only to notice that the shield was hitting my driveshaft.....the stupid tranny mount had lost its washer and nut so it dropped which in turn lowered my driveshaft into my heat shield....well after all this i now have a new tranny and a car without any heat shield....but i will be able to make the next meet as long as we can do it prior to feb 8th....as thats when im heading towards the east coast to start serving my country in the war...alright later guys.....parker

lol...... thats funny, thats an rx7 owners luck....... when you expect the worst, its not that bad..... when you hope for the best, it ends up being the worst......glad to hear its fixed though....... well, i have no problem with doing the next meet on sat. february 5th, does that sound good to everyone else??? we all agreed that 8am was a little too early, so we are going back to the "show up between 9am and 10am" deal....... that seemed to work out better because 3 of us were there at 8am, and the rest showed up after 9am anyways......... so that seems to work for everyone.......

so....
saturday, february 5th @ 9am....at the same location (that seemed to be a good location)(plus we have permission to be on the property)
does this sound good to everyone???

rx8s seemed to have a bad day today!!!! speeddemons 8 picked up a spike..... redbaron7's 8 flooded out this morning and wouldnt start (by the way, thanx for the work out!! just lets me know how badly im out of shape ) ....... then trigger shows up in his 8 only to have to leave early (we understand why, just showing that it wasnt an rx8 day)........... hopefully the next meet will be more kind to you!!

p.s. dont feel too bad, the first 2 meets were fc bad days! i hit a chair on the freeway during the first meet, then zero spins out in his fc on our second meet.... lets cross our fingers and hope that no more "incidences" happen (although they make for great coversation later)

Yeah It was a lot of fun still, don't forget what happened to Cobra boy lol. I have an idea for next time, One car carries tools, the next a floor jack, jack stands, coolant&oil, and then finally the last car has a spare tire, lol for a drama free venture. Ok talk to you guys later

Wow, that sucks about the tire. Did the silver RX-8 ever get started?Maybe I'll avoid next month's meet, so the bad luck can happen to someone else's 3rd Gen...

Here's a photo to tide everyone over. I'll post a couple more tomorrow or Monday.

That was a fun meet, although alittle different. Only an RX meet would consist of fixing flat tires, helping someone get their car running right, and getting someones car... well, running.

Can't wait to see what the next meet holds. Although if we get more cars I think a run might be a bit difficult to accomplish. In this one we lost 3 cars on the drive.

yeah, maby next time when we leave. we make sure we all exchange phone numbers, and CHARGE OUR CELL PHONES but also make sure we know ware we are going in advance. because if everyone did this we would not lose any cars.

in this case one car that got lost was recoverd because he had a cell phone. the other was lost and not recovered because there was no cell phone.... at least a cell phone that was charged...... not naming any names...... Riccio....

he he he.

anyways, the idea of having a car with tools, jack, stands, tire, not a bad idea.

here is a picture of the huge spike through my tire.

some of this is the same stuff, but this is the post i left on RX-8 Club site.
__________________________________________________ ______

well this time it was a little bit diferant of a meet. not by choice, but it was still fun.

at first we all met up in the parking lot. had a total of 12 cars show up. 9 rotarys 3 non.

3 RX-8's
2 3rd gens
4 2nd gens
1 evo VIII (500 H.P. bythe way)
1 300Z (twin turbo)
1 prelude (2001)

to be exact.

anyways, we then went to see red barons 3rd gen RX-7, its in the shop getting a new engine. i must say. this was one sweet ride.

we then went to red barons house to pick up his RX-8 that would not start (he showed up in his truck) and we got his 8 running.

we then drove about 3 miles ware Riccio got lost, and i ran over a huge spike (pictured below)

after fixing this, (an hour later, because we all know RX-8's dont have spares) we went and got lunch ware we ran into a guy with a mustang cobra supercharged.
he wanted to run our fastest car, so we put him up against the EVO VIII
this was fun, as the EVO beat him pretty good. mind you this is a 11.5 second evo, so the mustang did a pretty good job as he only got beat by about 2 cars.

anyways, like i said, this was a differant meet then normal, but its all good. it was still fun hanging out with rotary friends. cant wait to do it again.

Thanks to Riccio, looking forward to seeing you again! sorry about that, i do feel bad, next time i will make sure i get your cell number, if you make sure its charged.
Thanks Red Baron, thanks for loaning me the tire, ill get that back to you ASAP!
Thanks to Tr1gger, nice ride dude! hope to see you again in the future. ill make sure Vipers and myself come out to your meets!
and thanks to the rest of the people that are not on this site (they are on the RX-7 club site.)
