Don't think we'd have the convience of a lift?
Got my LSD off with no problems on a lift. On some jacks it's going to be a major PITA.

edit- I get out of work at 4pm and it takes me an hour roughly to get down there.

Can't come help but I thought I'd offer a few points.

Even with just a regular mechanic's jack it's not too bad. I've done it by myself but it's easier with a second set of hands.

-Use a 16" long 2x4 (or 2x6 or whatever) running fore/aft so you can support both the subframe and the diff simultaneously. Once you find the CG is pretty easy to balance that up there while raising or lowering.

-Make sure you start with the back end as high as you can.

-Undo the calipers and leave them tied up to the shocks. The shocks you can leave dangling.

-Add a pinion snubber while it's apart if you're making serious power.

Good luck.

I find it easier to drop the complete rear subframe assembly. It's a pain to do it by yourself (I've done it 4 times?), definitely get an extra set of hands or two. Too bad you're so far, otherwise I'd probably help.

it's not a big deal (subframe droppin') did it all by myself with the t2 donor car..took the diff and one axel out AND put the whole subframe back up so it can be a rolling shell..did he still need help with this? or was he serious about taking it to "lucky 7"...
