I've been wondering that too. I have a 2500HD with the 6.0 V8 and I've heard that I can get around 100hp if I buy intake, exhaust, and chip. These V8's are so restricted from the factory to help keep the miles-per-gallon at a reasonable level.

100hp for $1000 isn't that bad when you think about it.

Im cheap. So I will jsut keep my $1,000 and invest it on other junks. LTZ saves more gas than my other SUV's. Runs as a 4 bangger on downhill, then switches back to V8 when needed.

as a chevy guy........... The high speed govenor is a easy fix, Just about ALL the aftermarket programmers can turn that off and get ya few more HP. Most cost around 300 bucks. It is all in the CPU. Funny note, I was in my truck awhile back going to SF from LA, on the downhill side of the grapevine I was @ around 95 MPH so I put in in N to see it I would speed up, sure enough I did get to the 98 MPH GOV. and the motor tried to shut itself off!!!!! The rpm would dip to 300 and bounce to 500, the whole time I was over 98!!!!! The rpms were so low the power brakes wouldnt work!!!!! Fun times indead!
