I've taken a vehicle to the ref before and spoke with the guy there. They just want to make sure that the exhaust system is within Db ratings and that your emissions system is intact. They will perform a smog check.
The guy told me that intake systems are legal as long as you have a CARB cert or number, clearly visible. The intercooler, radiator, and ast should be fine. Your Racing Beat exhaust should be fine too. ( I don't know about the dp as they will do a smog check, but if anjew says you're good, then I guess you should be fine).
Upon completion, if you pass, you will be given a certificate. If you keep your aftermarket exhaust on and it passes the ref with it, the certificate will say that your aftermarket exhaust is in compliance. I hope that helps!

Ok. Tell me what intake system has a carb cert for the FD
. Im trying to get my car to pass smog first. My car is running rich. I think the sensors might be malfunctioning. Juicy Josh. Looks like you went to the Russian ref cuz that's some strict *** policy.

First, you need to use a stock ecu. Then, aside from using new oil, plugs, and a new fuel filter ***the factor that had the biggest improvement in passing smog was replacement of the O2 sensor(s)***.
Run a rubber hose from the air pump intake down toward the bottom of the engine so it sucks in only cold air.
Insist that the test be performed with the hood up and a large fan blowing directly onto the radiator.
Also, with less than a quarter tank of gas, pour into the tank 1 16-oz bottle of 91% alcohol. (The other 9% is water.) This makeshift water/alcohol injection helps. This should be just as legal as it's legal for our government to allow discount gas companies to put water and for others to put detergents (ie Techron) into their gas that they sell to us.
Ken, there's something else you can do if you're running the RB catback. You can remove the actual muffler (just the last piece next to the gas tank) and have a muffler shop fabricate a cheap (or use a leftover) muffler, cut it open, remove the exhaust maze and put a converter in its place. You'll be running two converters, which will catalyze more of the hydrocarbon emissions into water vapor and help you pass smog.
Installing the HKS Twin Power helps burn more fuel in the chambers too, meaning less upburned fuel comes out the exhaust. Hookup of the Twin Power takes 10 seconds if you get it with the harness.
With all - or even some of the methods above - your FD should pass Cali smog. Good luck. You should be fine.
Josh
