another Emissions? for CA and AZ guys

I know everyone is concerned with emissions as I am when it comes to the thought of moving to CA LOL. Wanted to know if the entire state of CA has strict emissions or are some counties exempt like it is here in CO. Also wanted to know about emissions from guys living in Arizona if you don't mind, thanks.

You are screwed when it comes to emissions in California, they are strict everywhere in Cali. It sucks that California has the most strict smog laws out of all the States. I actually plan on Moving from California real soon, not just because of the Smog Laws, but because it is too too expensive to live here.

Yea that is one of the reasons I have been considering Arizona as a place to move, suppose to have a pretty good cost of living down there.

There are some certain counties in central California that don't have the strict laws like the rest of the state.

LOL yea I have read about certain places where you can just give a little $$ under the table and pass emissions which is awesome if you ask me . But I have just read so much about how much police are ******** about CARB certified parts and checking under hoods makes me nervous.

Ehh...don't worry abou the police checkin under the hood of your ride. Legally they have to have probable cause to do that and 99% of the time, there is no probable cause. In reality all you have to tell them is no....if they give you a fuss, ask them if you're being detained. If they say no, walk away. If they tow your car, file a complaint for an illegal seizure...but, chances are, it won't get to that point. Most cops here are boneheads when it comes to cars that aren't their own...there are a few out there who know what's up but for the most part, they don't really care what you got as long as you don't act a fool on the streets....

AZ has tighter numbers you must pass, but we dont have the crazy visual crap. If it passes the sniffer you are probably going to be ok in AZ. If you have a K&N drop in filter you will probably fail visual in CA, not really that bad but you get the idea. In AZ only Maricopa and whatever county Tucson is need emissions, legally though if you drive your car into either of those counties more than a certain amount per month you should get smogged.
