IMO the corvette was giving the slower porsche PLENTY of room, even after the porsche pushed the vette off course in turn 2. Had to be one of the worst intentional wrecks I have ever seen. Worst part is, he still got the win. BULLSHIT!!!!! I cant find any videos BTW.....PIT MANEUVER....that was my first thought too. The only reason it worked is because the vette was in front. Damn that pissed me off. The announcer called him childish in the post race interview, asked the douche if that was how real men drive......LOL he rolled his eyes. Worst part is, someone could of been hurt the way he hit the wall straight on.
Trending Topics
The corvette did rear end the porsche exiting turn 11, which moved the porsche out of the way, and slowed it down. So the vette could put a last lap pass on him for the win.
Doesn't justify wrecking the vette, that was ugly. I wonder if Magnussen will try that trick again?

I don't see how he isn't looking over his shoulder next season.
The Vette kissed the back of the P-car several times. Nobody was innocent. Funny thing is that the fans seem more worked up than the drivers. Even Magnussen said "It was really good, hard racing." (also, this article says how they're BOTH penalized)
And though people keep saying that he was "pit manuvered," I think there were a lot of factors that contributed to the spin. The vette was against the wall, and likely though he was a head of the porsche. The Porsche didn't know how far they were from the wall (he was in a constant left headed motion, so a "slight juke" to the left would be within the direction he was already moving). It was also SUPER dusty.
What it all comes down to is that to think that a driver would intentionally spin another driver (which you would have to consider attempted murder given the proximity of the walls and the speed carried) that he has to share the track with, is a TALL accusation. Agressive driving turning out bad? Way more likely.
Maybe when we're racing drivers in one of the top tiers of motorsports at the end of a long enduro and hard fought battle, we can judge...
Oh, and I was in the stands too. It was the most intense race finish I have ever bore witness to. Made the day for sure.
I was there crewing for the ALMS Challenge #36 car. We finished third but then unfortunately came in a few pounds underweight, so got dq'd. Thoroughly disappointing after 4 hours of racing and three great pit stops. However, our sister car was moved up to second though after the winner in our class also got tossed for having an illegal fuel cell, so we still tied for the team championship.
As for the Corvette/Porsche melee. They were both guilty of some overly aggressive driving. However, the Porsche clearly drove the Corvette into the wall, and then gave him some more just to be sure. Though, I don't think he intentionally spun him. In the end, it was a racing incident, albeit a controversial one.

this is a good video showing the carnage... for those that haven't seen it yet

I would also like to point out that though Berg is getting serious flak for contact that resulted in a crash, Magnussen punted the Porsche hard into 11. Why are people not all up on him? Because Berg knew how to recover and not spin his car (a car that is very unstable in a tail-wag situation)? If anything, that would show how a tap on the rear does not equal a crash, you have to really give someone a shunt, or be TURNING. So what is more likely: that Berg slammed into the vette so hard it made the car whip around, or that Magnussen turned into the Porsche causing the RAPID change in direction.
baaaahgrfl.....all the 'net haters are pissing me off. whatever. Most of them don't actually watch real racing anyway.

from how i saw it... it looked like he was hitting the wall, and tried to get away from the wall. but the porsche was too close... and that little tap was so small.... anyway it just looked like a blocking game gone bad. the good thing is that no one got hurt, and they acted very sportsmen like after the race.
