Is that the production model? The pics from autoshow has a different look that is more retro and rounded in front.

Speaking of the MazdaSpeed MX-5, I had a chance to drive one and beat up on it not too long ago. That is one IMPRESSIVE car!!!! If it were a little more comfortable for a driver of my size (6'2" and 200lbs.) I would buy one in a heartbeat!! Just my .02 though.

I have a 1992 Miata and my FD. I test drove the Mazdaspeed Miata a year ago and it was nice but I decided not to buy it. I was thinking about selling my old Miata and my FD and just having the Mazdaspeed Miata. I though it would be a good compromise between the two things I love most about my Miata and my FD, Fun and Power. However, it turns out it's not even remotely comparable in performance to the FD and in my opinion no more fun to drive than my 1992 Miata. So I kept my two cars and I'm still happy I did. I think the Mazdaspeed Miata is a great car and a good value but wasn't all I hoped it would be.

The new Miata has less classic styling. I'll have to see it in person before I can judge it. However, 180hp will be nice. If they come out with a Mazdaspeed edition of the new Miata I might take one. Anyone know if the rumors of a renesis powered Mazdaspeed Miata are bogus? That would be NICE.

I came very close to buying the new Lotus Elise a month ago. But my better judgement stopped me. It's WAY to expensive... and it makes the Miata and FD look like super practical spacious luxury cars. But man... what an awesome sports car.
