A Reno man lost control of his 1993 Mazda RX-7 about 4 p.m. Wednesday, hitting a juvenile male on a bicycle near Scottsdale Road and Clear Acre Lane, Reno police said.
The juvenile was treated at Washoe Medical Center for a possible broken pelvis and thumb, police said. Paul Eric Lechner, 28, of Reno, lost control because he was traveling at high speed, police said. Lechner's brakes locked and sent him into a spin, across a sidewalk and into a ditch, police said.
The juvenile was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk.

They only said 2 basic things in the whole report, and they repeated them. I know the guy broke his pelvis and thumb, and he was hit by an rx-7. Also the kid was a juvenile....
I think the cop is using a Sony Mavica (or similar digital camera) and squinting to see the crappy LCD in the bright desert sun. Yeah, the "staff reporter" for this one sucks.
I'm curious if this is a user of the site since his name was mentioned in the article.

Yeah, sorry it isnt my car. I did see it driving around last week though. It turned my head since I dont see many FDs in town. He did crash on a pretty lame road. Its about as straight as can be through the scottsdale intersection, albeit a little down hill, then it turnes into a a construction zone.

I don't say I agree about the shadows based on other factors in the composition of the picture.
I stand corrected, but that's still a weird-looking picture; the cop doesn't look like he would fit into the car, even though he's further from the camera.
I hope the cyclist heals well. I wonder if he was wearing a helmet or not. You would think they would mention something like "Luckily, he was wearing a helmet. Helmets keep you safe, kids!"
