Dan,

I have been looking for a few years now for such a twin setup. What type of turbos is he using? Does he have some type of kit for it or is it just a 'one off' for himself. I would be interested.

Does he have a shop? If so, could you please send me some info?

Also, I noticed that it seems like he has the radiator almost horizontal with the FMIC; that is something I would also like to do. Does he have any cooling issues?

Thanks.

It looks like the air intake tubing is steel not aluminum like I usually see, is there downsides to that?

Hi Dclin,

Is the black car with red ceramic coated piping yours? If so, the pictures don't do it justice. It's one of the sweetest rides I've seen along with the other three or four RX-7 always at Marcus's shop. What are you having done to it? Doesn't seem like there is much left to do . Laters -- Tommy.

athun: He's planning on releasing a twin parallel turbo kit soon. Don't have the exact specs on the turbos, but I'll get Marcus to come here and answer the specifics. Don't think its on his website yet.

The radiator is actually in the stock position (looks horizontal from that angle hehe), which Marcus' FMIC is one of teh couple that allows you to not have to relocate the radiator or touch the A/C lines. Big plus for me.

Jedon: No real (meaning meaningful) advantages either way. I suppose that one material may heatsoak a bit more then the other, but I imagine everything is going to get ceramic coated like the black (james) 7 - so basically a non-issue.

Tommy: No, sorry to say that it is not. Mine is one of the silver ones that frequent there, hehe.

Check out my new wheels that came in just a few minutes ago! Bling bling! They're so nice and shiny, I'm not sure if I can bring myself to mount them on the car. I don't even want to take the protective rim tape off hehe. I think I'll just hang em on the wall...:p Yeah - two months of waiting over!

Can you side 'wide'? I knew you could!

Gewalt Evolution 3 piece, custom painted gunmetal spokes
18X8.5 +44 and 18X10 +44

Have not weighed them yet, but think they are around 22lbs.

That intake is HUGE and not very aerodynamic it should be nice to see how long that thumper 88 spools up . The Periphial Ported engine should make HUGE HP when it does spool. I also only notice only 2 1600s so far I take it he is not on alcohol either??. Also, the exhaust manifold looks great. I cant wait to beat him next year

Hey Greg !

That is not a PP engine in that photo ?

Turbo looks very similar to a T51 Garrett, I have seen before

Sweet rims Dan,

They were cheap, right? Would you mind posting the price, and from where; I think those would look great on my car!

Oh and thanks for the info, I would love to see the twin kit and his FMIC.

Thanks.

my setups

i am gonna try and asnswer some of your questions and comment on some of y'alls comments

the twin setup on my car is a one off and it was very difficult to create and is still not quite right yet. right now the compressor wheels are too small and i am removing them next week to get changed but even with the small ones at 22 psi it runs great but first gear sucks!

Greg, i look forward to smashing you next year with my 1.12 60'fts and 163 mph trap speeds!! the intake is not done , there is 4 more 1600 injectors onthe back side and i have not added the two in the front yet. the intake has been flow tested at NASA and the front front runner only flows 4% less than the rear and this is due to what is in the inside of the "bread box". it is not just a box with runners

the intake is steel where it bolts to the motor only this is because of the closeness of the two middle runners (VERY hard to weld aluminum in that close of an area w/o warping the flange) seeing as the motor is steel and the manifold will be ceramic coated ( a new sponser) it should not make a difference. the rest of the manifold is aluminum

Greg, i am running alchohol and the car is being designed to use NX all of the time, so i will jet it until it spools. the turbo is a 1.22 divided with a q2 trim so it MAY not be too bad! and the exhaust ports are HUGE!

everything is coming together pretty smooth and should be on track by the end of January so the WIC in houston will be my first event. are any of you coming down for the event? 15k plus for first place in teh outlaw class should be worth the trip if ya can handle it!!

Holy **** you are right RICE in this picture it looked Pported.

Marcus, the car is looking really good, Hopefully the engine I am looking into building will keep you guys off my back. Remember next year OUTLAW CLASS = Greg . Thats if we can keep Mr. crispeed tame, it looks like he is not playing games anymore and his next setup will make us all look pitiful. Good luck with the car.

Crispeed,Greg and Me

a three rotor will be in my car by midseason if i cant get the two rotor to stay together long enough (e-shaft) but i expect to be in the low 8.30's by May if not sooner so Crispeed is gonna have to bring it on Greg, if you can get that three rotor in that will be a head start for you, i actually wanted to start off with a three rotor but funds will not enable me to do it most of my ET is going to come from 60' and 1/8 mile (i have a very good chassis man)and i have a contract to start racing by February and i already have all of the two rotor stuff fabbed up already. i am working on some more sponsership funds so if it comes through i can still do it, i REALLY need 1000h.p. to run the combo that i want and the good ole two rotor aint gonna cut it i think 800 or so is it.

the wastegate pipe is just tacked on for show , it will feed off of both rotors when it is done. i took the car to San Antonio to to show it and just layed it there for looks.

Greg . are you in the East coast? if so i will see you at the NHRA event up there, what about coming down here to Texas for the World import Challenge?

Thanks! They're the wheels I've always wanted, and when Makin stopped importing them last year I thought that was that ( I was told no longer made).

Then I found Hiro's shop by pure accident. I think he either one of or the sole distributor for Arrow wheels (the Gewalt manufacturer) in the US. The centers have been custom painted gunmetal after they arrived in the US. The price for the staggered 18X8.5/18X10 will be a little more then the 18X8.5 all four price, with the painting a little more of course.

I think you might want to call him (as oppose to e-mail) as that it looks like he was a victim of the Badtrans virus today. Damn, my AV software caught 5 incomings today alone! Nasty, nasty virus.

I am in the philly area, Hopefully I cant start out the season at the world import challenge but funds also might be the hold back. Im looking to have the transmission in late january sot hat only give me 2 months to get a 3 rotor engine in there and port and tune it. I have some hook ups on the 3 rotor so we will see. A tumper 91 is comming down to me next week, we will see if funds can let me keeep her

Marcus:
hey it's johann, i helped instal the I/C on the red 7. Saw you at the S/A event. I think i'll run outlaw too, since it seems like a whole lot of people suddenly have race cars..

What with the dash though? why does it look like it's from one of those student driver cars that have two steering wheels. Anyway, i look forward to seeing you fly on the track this season. Best of luck.

Marcus your intake looks awesome. Whoever said it's to big doesn't know to much about custom intakes. Almost looks like a Hogan manifold.. I will meet up with you when you come to the east coast. We might even have our racecar.(waiting for sponsorship funds) It won't be a mazda though.

P.S. Nice wastegate! where did you get them? lol...
