Does anybody have a pic of a thrid gen with Eibachs and stock 16 inch wheels? How much of a gap is left? Better yet, does anybody in Southern California have them and is willing to let me see their car?

 

The front fender looks really nice, but the rear shows a little gap. I put some Koni Sport shox and set the rear a little lower and now it looks really clean.

Where in california are you located? By the way, from the angle of your photo the rear height still looks like stock (pretty high).

 

I live in West L.A. The rear does look a bit high from that angle. I didn't like it, so that is why I bought the Koni struts to lower it even more. The front has very little to no fender gap at all, while the rear did have some, but not as bad as stock.

 

The rear needs that little bit of extra space for when the car squats when launching. I also have the Eibachs on it.

If you look at the bootom edge of the FD, its perfectly even with the pavement.

 

eibachs help lessen the gap...but not enough in my opinion...but it helps...

Those rims are stock chromed! Just used some metal polish and that's what it looks like!

 

yeah, the stock chrome wheels do look really good.

I've always thought stock FD wheels were prety nice,
only problem with them was the finish... i mean wtf

chrome just isnt my thing though....different shine from polished aluminum than chrome
especially chrome wheels....blah!

 

IMHO I think that chrome is just asking for too much in a rx7, other cars yeah, rexy....naaaa. Well anyway, Im looking to lower the car about an inch..maybe 1 1/2. How do I do this (what to buy) Whats everyones recommendation on this without losing proformance?

Eibach kit with Bilsteins. Dropped 1" with 285/35-18's rear, 245/35-18's front. Front tucks nicely with a little fender roll-job, but lock-to-lock turns cause rubbing. Rear rubs on every launch when squatting. Not much more I can roll the 1/4 panelss without getting an aero kit.. Kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it?

 

OK here's my current rx. It's got stock springs and struts/shocks with 80k miles.



Here's my dearly departed rx. It had Eibachs and Tockico Illuminas.



I'd say that the Eibachs probably dropped the car around an inch up front and about 3/4 of an inch in the rear. The rear still looks a little bit jacked.

 

I always thought the stock wheels looked great too.... wish I kept mine - damn. I mean - squeeze cast aluminum - on a stock car? Pretty exotic stuff. If I could only find some exact dups in an 18" I would buy them in a heartbeat.

 

Hmmm.... another one back from the dead. Anyone have an FD on OEM wheels with these springs (ANY model year)? TIA

 

I've got Eibach's on stock touring shocks, only and using 17" rims, they are 5 star so they may look close to stock, even 17's with the size of wheels these days seem small I guess but I like the 9.5" rear!
