Try the Explorer V8. It also uses the short water pump & accessories.

I have a 84 gs roller I was thinking about putting a chevy v8 in. I wonder if its as easy as some say it is? Auto or 5spd?

well i got a hold of grannys and my parts are in the mailso that is good. calling was by far the fastest way to get a hold of them. thanks guys. so far the swap hasent been hard but i have still have to wire it up and sort out the accessory and fan clearence and i think that this will be the hardest part of the swap. i will keep up on the updates once i have done more. thanks rx347 for another option i didnt know about.

A little more about the Explorer V8. Rear sump oil pan, Cobra style GT40 upper & lower intakes, 65mm Throttle body, engine oil cooler, GT40 heads (mid 1990s) GT40P heads to 2002. Great engine for about $500 at the salvage yard. Good luck with your project.
