I corner weighted the car on Friday.

Would anyone like to guestimate the weight or weight distribution?

I saw your whole thread at the V8rx7 forum. I must say I am very impressed, you've taken this far.

Hey, about a year ago I asked you have you have done to your front fenders cause I had an ls1 FD with the same front bumper, pettit flares, and you never replied. I was not going to copy it, I was just curious.

Wow, thats a beautiful setup you have there. What wheel/tire setup are you using? I guess I'll start with the weight guesstimates. Guessing with a stripped interior and no driver, 2700lbs. Thats really just a shot in the dark, I have nothing to base this guess on...

Those tires aren't that worn, thats what they look like. Actually they look pretty new.

I would also say some were in the 2,7XX range and 51/49 balance. Your car is sick, sick ,sick.

Sorry. I thought I replied to all those but looks like I missed one.

The front fenders started as Burnouts. I removed the spring/damper and cycled the front wheel/tire through all of the possible permutations. So full bump, full droop, lock to lock, etc, and trimmed all clashes. Once you have clearance a fender liner can be fabbed. I made mine out of sheet aluminum with 1/2" tubing for braces. this can probaby be done a number of different ways though.

Hmm, that's strange, because I spent time at Carolina Motorsports Park in the wet, and set FTD. Must have been just luck??

Furthermore, I drove the car 60 miles each way (from Charlotte), each day, and it rained INCHES on the drive down. So yeah, be afraid, because I'll DIE if I drive this car in pouring rain on the way to the track to race in the wet and set FTD. Growing up in the northern rockies teaches you how to drive with limited traction. Go drive to the mountain a hundred times a year for a few years and get back to me.

Trickshot- I got a ride in this car and it puts the power down well. With nearly 700hp at the flywheel on 91 octane... the car scoots for sure. In the lower gears if you want to... of course you can blow the tires off. But show me any RX-7 with this kind of power that couldn't.

Hey, douschebag. Those arent wet oriented tires to begin with, theyre not unreasonably worn by any standard, and stock fd's have traction issues in the rain.

Nice to see you got the beast running.
The car is sweet and will be a force to be reckoned with on the track. I'm hoping you, Mark and I (if we ever get our cars together) can get out and spin a few laps together.

btw, does the LS7 weigh the same as the LS1?

hell, i'd expect the Ls7 to weigh a lil bit less than a Ls1. same small block design, but with 427 cubes drilled out, vs only 347 on the LS1...

Stroker crankshafts weigh more, and so do larger diameter pistons. The cylinder sleeve thickness is still going to be comparable, but the sleeves are larger in diameter. A 427 short block will weigh a bit more than a 347, possibly as much as 5-15 lbs. depending on the components used.
