Basically what I'm asking is do I need a new radiator for the build or will the stock one suffice? and does anyone know if there is a difference between the drive shaft in the basic opposed to the drive shaft in the deluxe kit?

im doing a similar swap myself(305) and i know you check out granny's

a good link for your questions is :
v8rx7forum.com

tons of members and are all willing to help you with NO hassle,im piston-tarted(no knowedge on pistons) and i ask a lot of dumb *** question and everyone helps..

ya,so check it,theres a few hundred members and its always buisy on that board

and alot of grannys parts are a bit overpriced, and you can still use the FC radiator(depending on your engine setup) but it WILL need to be repositioned(many write ups on that as well) some people have most of the parts your looking for used and what not

take it easy

Can you provide a link to where you are finding these Kits?

I am picking up an 86' 5.0 Carb most likely tomorrow and I have an 86' FC. Looking to find all those parts listed above, but haven't found a website that has them yet.

Basic kit is enough, anything else he sells is just overpriced. Ive done a 5.0 aod swap into a 86, its a stupid simple and cheap swap.

totally agree 5.0 EFI or carb is super easy. I have had both and EFI is way better in my opinion so if you do it go efi you wont regret it. I also used a standalone harness from ebay to do mine. Got a harness and ecu for $375.00

Thanks a lot guys, I ended up getting the basic plus kit... I have an efi 5.0 sitting in my garage waiting for a t5 to be bolted up, then it'll be thrown into the car. Once I get this project going, I'll make build thread so everyone can see what I'm up to
