Maybe I am overthinking this. I have a 1980 SA22C with a 1993 ford mustang 5.0 HO motor in it. Motor runs great smog equipment is all in place the only issues is I don’t have an exhaust. I am located in CA and so I need to match the factory 4 catalytic converters from the 1993 ford with the little room the car provides. I spoke to a smog ref and he said it has to be the same up until the cats and then I can do whatever I want. Has anyone here successfully smogged something like this is CA? I’m a bit lost on the exhaust routing. I tried to search forms but nothing comes up regarding running the exhaust on a 1st gen after the swap. Some pictures would help a lot. If I left anything out let me know! I can also provide pictures.
For anyone who comes across this the Magnaflow 337338 will somewhat fit under these cars. I say somewhat because I have it installed and I have ground clearance enough that it could be driven. I haven’t completed the install yet with the cat back pipes but some fabrication and these should work.
Brought this to a shop he set this up. Positing in case this helps anyone in the future. I will say he said “it was a bitch to get this over the rear axle”. Cat routing Over the axle
